*Before doing anything, make sure to have a Back-up.
Requirements:
– Root Explorer
– let’s use “SystemUI.apk” for this example
Procedure:
1. Download, Install, and Open Root Explorer.
2. Navigate to Root/system/app
3. Scroll down until you see “SystemUI.apk”
4. Tick the check box beside it.
5. Next, tap on the Menu option on the lower right side of the screen (the icon with 3 dots aligned vertically)
6. Choose “Extract All”
7. After Extracting, Choose the option to “Go to Extracted” – you will then see a folder named SystemUI
8. Open it – then you’ll see several folders under it — you can edit the icons on its subfolders (res/drawable-hdpi,mpdi,xhpdi, etc)
9. After doing whatever you need to do, go back to those subfolders just under the SystemUI folder, click all of them – tap the Menu option, then choose Zip.
10. Type “SystemUI” as the Zip Name – then choose “Create Zip”
11. Once done, choose “Go to Zip”
12. You’ll then see your zipped file named “SystemUI.zip”
13. Tick on the checkbox beside it, hit the Menu button, then choose “Rename”
14. Rename your file from “SystemUI.zip” to “SystemUI.apk”
15. Again tick the checkbox, choose the “Copy” or “Cut” icon on the lower part of the screen.
16. Now go to Root/system
17. Tap “Copy Here” or “Move Here” (Hit Yes, Ok, or Grant for every pop-up).
18. Look for your Copied/Moved SystemUi.apk — now the check box, menu option — choose “Permission”.
19. Permission should be rw-r–r
*Meaning Check Read, Write for OWNER ,Check Read for GROUP, Check Read for OTHERS– uncheck all other boxes.
20. Lastly, move this SystemUi.apk to Root/system/app – overwriting the original .apk
21. Reboot.
Done.
